Being Forgotten

Shock?  Wounded?  Anger?  Worthless?  Appalled?  How did you fell the last time you were forgotten by someone you love?

How do you suppose Joseph felt being forgotten by his brothers who sold him into slavery in Egypt (Genesis 37) and then forgotten in prison by the chief butler (Genesis 40)?

How do you suppose the Lord feels when He is forgotten by the people He loves so (Psalm 106, Jeremiah 2:31-32, 2 Peter 1:5-9)?

If it helps you to not forget the Lord, remember that He never forgets you!

The Lord in Isaiah 49:15-16a says, “Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.  Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands.”

Jesus said, “Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God?  But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows.”  (Luke 12:6-7)
